W. Patrick Connelly, Managing Director
Patrick grew up in the Houston area and earned a Bachelor’s of Science from the United States Military Academy, where he graduated first in his class. Following West Point, Patrick served as an infantry officer in the Army for over six years, and participated in operations throughout the Balkans, North Africa, Europe and Iraq.
Patrick’s interest in the energy industry grew out of his military service in the Middle East and his graduate studies at Harvard. He joined SCF Partners in 2008 after completing a dual MBA/MPA degree program from Harvard Business School and Kennedy School of Government. From August 2010 to October 2012, Patrick joined Forum Energy Technologies, SCF Partner’s largest energy product and manufacturing company, where he oversaw the execution of a range of strategic initiatives, such as new business line concept development, acquisitions, corporate marketing, Forum’s initial public offering and most recently, investor relations. Patrick is currently responsible for developing new investment opportunities for SCF Partners.
Patrick serves as a Term Member of the Council on Foreign Relations, (www.cfr.org), a Director at the World Affairs Council of Houston (www.wachouston.org), and spends his free time volunteering as Board Member with the Small Steps Nurturing Center (www.ssnc.org), a non-profit organization that provides early childhood education and support to at-risk children in Houston.
