L.E. Simmons, President
L.E. began his career in finance while studying economics at the London School of Economics and the University of Utah, and subsequently earned his MBA from Harvard University in 1972. He served as Corporate Finance Officer at The First National Bank of Chicago before moving to Texas to be co-founder of Simmons & Company International, an investment banking firm specializing in oilfield service companies.
Recognizing his clients’ need for private capital and growth assistance, L.E. founded SCF Partners in 1989. Through SCF, he has guided the investment of over $1.6 billion in private equity capital used to build energy service and equipment companies. SCF has created ten public companies listed on the U.S. and Canadian exchanges, a number of which are among the largest companies in the oil service industry today.
L.E. is active in the community and currently serves on the boards of United Airlines, Zions Bancorporation and Ellison Ranching Company. He is also active in the non-profit sector, currently serving on the boards of Texas Children’s Hospital, Rice University, The London School of Economics North American Advisory Council, Texas Heart Institute, The Baker Institute, and other educational and medical research institutions.
