Perth, Australia, August, 2015 – SCF is pleased to announce that, in partnership with Perth-based Viburnum Funds, John Edwards and management, the firm has acquired the Australian and South-East Asian Business of Cal Dive International.
The company which will be renamed Shelf Subsea, will be headquartered in Singapore, and will also have operations in Perth. The management team of Peter Evans and Peter Malcom will continue to run the business and John Edwards, who previously partnered with SCF to build Canyon Offshore, will serve as Chairman.
Cal Dive Australia is a leading provider of saturation and air diving and subsea services to the oil and gas industry. The company’s service offering spans the life cycle of a well and includes: Geotech coring; pipeline and umbilical installation, hook-up and tie-in; inspection, repair, maintenance; well intervention; platform removal and plug and abandonment work. The company operates a fleet of specialist vessels and also offers ROV services.
The entity that SCF is acquiring was originally Fraser Diving International, before being acquired in 2005 by Cal Dive International and is the largest independent diving services company in Australia.
