Chris was born and raised in the Houston area and earned a Bachelors of Business Administration in Finance from the Texas Tech University, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. Following Texas Tech, Chris worked for Amegy Bank for 3 years in the E&P Energy Lending Group. He began his career at Amegy in the Analyst Development Program and left as an Assistant Vice President. During that time, Chris was responsible for structuring, modeling, and negotiating new and existing reserved based loans.
In 2008, Chris moved to Denham Capital, a global energy private equity firm with $4bln in assets under management. He was responsible for modeling, negotiating, and executing new and existing investments in the broad energy and commodities space. After Denham, he pursued his MBA from Rice University, where he graduated with honors. While at Rice University, Chris joined the Wright Fund, a $1mm student run investment fund, where he lead the energy group’s investment team to generate more alpha than all of the other sectors by picking undervalued public stocks.
Chris joined SCF during the middle of his MBA in May of 2011, and continued on after graduating. Chris is responsible for deal execution including negotiations with sellers and banks, modeling & financial projections, as well as monitoring existing investments. During his free time, Chris enjoys raising his two daughters with his wife as wells as cycling and skydiving.
