Born and raised in Mississippi, Garrett graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) with a Bachelor’s of Science dual degree in Political Science and Public Policy Leadership. Upon graduating, Garrett took a job with Solamere Capital, a Boston based Private Equity firm, assisting with their fundraising efforts.
Soon after moving to Boston, Garrett got involved with the Free and Strong America PAC, Governor Mitt Romney’s Boston based political action committee. In 2009, Garrett took a job as the Deputy National Finance Director for the Free and Strong America PAC, but soon became Governor Romney’s Personal Aide. As Romney’s personal aide, Garrett was responsible for managing his day to day activities and traveled with the GOP presidential nominee throughout the entirety of the 2012 election cycle.
Featured in profile pieces by the New York Times, CNN, NBC News, and others, Garrett used social media outlets to give the American people a behind the scenes look into life on the campaign trail, transforming the norm for American Presidential politics.
Garrett joined SCF in 2013 where his responsibilities include evaluating and executing new investment opportunities as well as supporting ongoing portfolio initiatives. During his tenure at SCF Partners, he earned an MBA from Rice University’s Business School in the Spring of 2017. Garrett and his wife have two children, and in his spare time, he enjoys flying, golfing, and keeping up with his beloved alma mater, Ole Miss.
